5.10 Luna Lovegood

Alice and Martha admire JK Rowling’s ability to write chaotic scenes, as evidenced several times throughout Harry’s hectic journey back to Hogwarts. The first appearance of Luna Lovegood, the mention of Stubby Boardman and Doris Purkiss, and the return of Wilhelmina, AKA “Queen” Grubbly-Plank make this week’s Real Weirdo the toughest decision in recent memory!

In an interview, Rowling said Hedwig’s death represented the death of harry’s childlike innocence as he knew it.

I love how Ginny was so good at the cleaning charm. Molly taught her well.

I just watched Sleepless in Seatle and there was a character who laughed as much as Luna. Okay, maybe not at Luna’s extreme but she sure was laughing a lot.

The magazine articles was my favourite part of the chapter.

That song with four and twenty blackbirds was familiar to me too! I looked it up and it’s called Sing a Song of Sixpence.

I thought Umbridge was calling the first years but I was actually excited to see Grubbly-Plank too because I know how loved she is on this podcast.
