Good point about how Mr. Roberts could have easily been temporarily removed from the picture. It’s all fun and games now…
Thanks for explainng what were +4s! I didn’t look it up.
I loved the tents descriptions scene! It was so colourful. Wow, sharp observation about the Malfoy’s tent! Here’s a fitting fanart: https://www.deviantart.com/popular-all-time/?section=&global=1&q=ludo+bagman
Oh wow, I thought I was the only one who thought of a Perkins-Figg relationship but that was a fleeting thought.
I guess Archie never wears underwear under his robes either. There’s a trope in the HP fanfic fandom that wizards don’t wear underwear or bras for that matter.
Not only are there only four teams at Hogwarts, but not everyone pursues Quidditch, as we see in the Weasleys. Ginny played for the Harpies but Charlie, Fred, George and Ron did other things.
Bill’s pen friend wanted to take Bill’s place so if Bill can’t go, he can’t go either.
In Fernwithy’s Teddy Lupin series, Teddy becomes an Unspeakable.
I am not a fan of gambling so I would have put in even less than Arthur.
Ha, I didn’t even notice that Crouch family foreshadowing.
It’s wild how the misconception is that Australia is a continent when it’s actaully Oceania.
Hey Alice and Martha. Great show! I know sports isn’t your favorite topic to discuss so I was hoping that this information might help concerning why Oliver Wood is only on the reserve team. Martha almost hit it on the head when she mentioned that many baseball players in MLB were born in different countries. This is true for all leagues. Closer to J.K. Rowling’s home, the main soccer league in Britain is the English Premier League. The 20 teams in that league are all based in England but feature players from all over the world. For example, my favorite team in the league, Liverpool, currently has players from Senegal, Egypt, Spain, Netherlands, and 15 other countries besides England. So this could explain why there is a much larger talent pool besides Hogwarts quidditch players to choose from if players from other wizarding schools can be allowed to play in other countries. Now for the World Cup. The format of the Quidditch World Cup most likely follows the rules for the real World Cup that is played, which is similar to the Olympics. In the World Cup, players can only play for the country they were born in. This would explain why the Irish team has all Irish last names—they are native to their country. The same for Bulgaria. But most likely, once the Quidditch World Cup is over, these players will go back to the teams they regularly play for, which can be in any league or country. Hope this helps!
