The secret is out… and no, it has nothing to do with Hogsmeade. Listen to Alice and Martha as they do their best to put themselves in Snape’s shoes, confuse themselves talking about time travel, and assess the root of Harry’s “saving people thing.” Warning: tears are shed.

There’s another element to the “joke” Sirius played on Snape when they were teenagers that I feel like everyone always ignores. The blame would have largely fallen on Remus if Snape was killed. Think about it, werewolves already have to live underground and there are very few job opportunities for them to have. It’s only because Dumbledore made it so that Lupin was allowed to even come to Hogwarts. If it was found out that he actually killed a student on school grounds, that would have completely ruined Lupin’s life, even more so than it already has been. Not to mention the fact that the man already has self-worth issues due to his lycanthropy. And what would it have all been for? Because Sirius wanted to be able say “its just a prank, bro.” He could have completely ruined his own friend’s life in the process. There’s no doubt that Sirius is a good person, but he absolutely has a lot of the negative traits of his family that never quite left him.
I had to jump ahead and see where this chapter ranked before listening to it.
Now that you reached your Patreon goal, I look forward to see how you will deliver on your goal.
Haha, I never noticed that Snape just refers to Hermione as ‘girl’.
That amount of chocolate sounds delicious.
I’m glad that you took the time to delve into Sirius’ prank. It makes Snape’s grudge even more understandable.
Dumbledore is truly the voice of reason. I’m glad that the children didn’t go off on their whims.
I thought that Dumblebore stalling was a coincidence, but I like Alice’s theory.
I would say that Hagrid is friends with the faculty, and we see this in their Three Broomsticks visit.
I never thought about how this was the first taste the addiction of saving people.
