Finally the story gets going.

1- I am glad the Ginny does not remember all the crazy stuff she does under Riddle’s influence. Stuff like that would really mess up a kid.

2- Just realized Lockhart is totally Norm from Cheers. The way he goes on and on about subjects he has no idea about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6GTZrcoWEM

3- I agree that it takes way to long for the grown-ups to figure out things. The typical kids are way smarter than grown-ups.

4- From HP WIKI: “Petrification is the process of being turned to stone. The only proven causes of petrification are the gaze of the Gorgon and the Basilisk, the latter only when reflected in or seen through another object. However, there may be a Dark spell that does the same. It is considered to be dark magic of the most advanced kind, of which no normal second year student could accomplish.”

Now the Mandrake’s only magical purpose is to cure petrification. “When matured, can be cut up to serve as a prime ingredient for the Mandrake Restorative Draught, which is to cure those who have been petrified.”

Pretty convenient that Professor Sprout just happens to have a new crop.

I loved your BSC episode. It was the one that got me hooked to your podcast in the first place.

Lockhart was a really good comic relief.

I’d guess that no one was petrified the first time because this time there were elements stopping the death by fluke, such as Colin’s camera.

Interesting discussion about the extent of mental health problems in the wizarding world.

Myrtle saying that she wanted to kill herself sounds so triggering in today’s Tumblr and PC culture.
