Completely skipped in the movie, but a fun chapter that adds to the Harry/Draco rivalry.
Clarification on my last statement. I meant the “Midnight Dual” portion of the chapter did not happen in the movie.
Plenty to love in this chapter. Harry’s first flight, getting on the Quitch team, and Fluffy.
In terms of pre-Hogwarts students being allowd to fly, I remember in Book 4 when there were children playing with hovering broomsticks. Maybe it’s like riding a bike? And when you think about it, it’s actually magic that doesn’t need a wand since the incantation is just, ‘Up!’.
I love how Quiddith Through Out the Ages became a real book! I’m pretty sure I read it in the past. I wondered why some brooms were more responsive than others but I guess attitude plays a big part of it. Harry not getting in trouble on the count of McGonagal being a huge Quiddith fan is one of my favourite twists in the book. The amount of Weasleys who played for Griffindor is so endearing. Oliver Wood in my Harry Potter crush too and I’m not even into jocks. The actor is just incredibly adorable and I have a weakness for accents.
